At Ren Media, we care about web accessibility. We know the frustrations some users feel when they can’t access the information they need due to poor design. If you have problems accessing any of our websites or services, please let us know.
All of our websites use semantic HTML for content, and CSS for layout. In addition, all our pages validate, including this one.
We strive to adhere to the W3C's WCAG. For example, this site complies with Priority 2 of the guidelines. However, with some of our more interactive services, this becomes more difficult.
We also comply with the U.S. Federal Government's Section 508 Guidelines.
Our sites use Javascript extensively, as we prefer it to Adobe's proprietary Flash format (although we do use this for video content). Wherever we use Javascript we ensure that it gracefully degrades for those without Javascript turned on, or for those for who Javascript can confuse their access to content (screen reader users for example). Where Javascript forms an essential part of functionality we try to provide another way of accessing key content. For example, at londonlvyou.com, content is generally accessed through a series of Javascript tools, like a Google map and AJAX search function. For those who do not have access to Javascript, there are the links 'Leisure Travel' and 'Business Travel', which offer content in a simple, plain HTML directory format.
All of our designs are easy to read. There are no blinking or distracting visual effects (as prohibited by Checkpoint 7.2 of WCAG) and there is high contrast and high visibility of page content. This is true of all our websites, including this one. Text on our pages can easily be resized (refer to this guide from the BBC on how to resize text) without the layout being impaired or text disappearing or becoming difficult to read.
